Hey guys, great to be back on Bloom Chats. Uh we haven't seen each other for a while. This time I'm not a guest anymore and I'll be your host today. We have a special guest. Alex is going to be our guest today. But before I introduce him or before he introduce himself, let me go through quickly of what we're up to right now. We have a Vladimus, our CMO. He is presenting at the blockchain forum right now at 12:05 by UTC and he's going to be giving a speech about the attention as a new currency. So, uh, if you have time or if you're a Russian speaking and you're currently in Moscow, make sure to attend the event. Next one on our list is the Hash Trading Clash and it's live, guys. It's going to finish in 2 days. It's live until 25th of April, and you have a chance to win up to 1,000 in Tom.
If you're not eligible for that, you still have a chance to get like $10 just for trading like $50 volume. So, make sure to take part in it as well. Next one on our list is uh we finally added the the ability to add the icon of the bloom on your home screen. So you don't have to scroll from your telegram like endless chats. We also have the instructions. So check out our main channel on how to add it to your home screen. Could you please give us like a short introduction of who you are? I'm a product designer. I switched my career from graphic design to product for the last couple of years maybe three. I worked in web3 space and I helped different startups to engage users into this new industry and to help build some cool products. Alex, did you bring any kind of like cool Figma secrets for us today? I actually can show you something.
Okay, there we go. I hope everyone can see the screen. I want to talk about different features, different parts of our Blooma system. what kind of decisions we made to help users actually use our mobile app. It's not often very obvious on which part to work. Let me just show an example of what kind of job I actually do. If you remember, we have a map token info page. On the first iteration, it was look like this. You see that there is no actually info that could help you understand more details about token. We have a lot of requests from our users to add some stats data analytics to avoid scam projects for example.
Also, we've trying to introduce some more cool visual style for this page. So, we bring like a lot of details on this page. For example, from the first chart of this page, you can see verified community charts. You can see tribe that linked with this community. This also helped to identificate the verified ones official official tokens. We introduced reactions reactions and this cool cool new thing that help engage people into the trading. You can see rocket emoji. Huh? Yeah. Yeah. You can see how much uh users involved in this token. So, and of course some stats like holders and transactions with the top five holders like owning the most amount amount of tokens and you can easily scan this things understand like okay this seems legit of course the target holder. So actually there is a lot of info and we introduced some version some iteration uh last year charts a huge uh difference what we have from start and what we have now and this only small parts of main part for example like reactions I think at some point we've decided to add some fun in trading system and we add some separate reactions features like live reactions on the spotlight where you can see how much people love or maybe hate But it's like it's some near future.
We don't have ts emojis. Yes, we have only like positive ones or stars etc. But you can see you can vote. You can show your appreciation. We constantly evolving this thing. We add some new interaction stuff like streams to engage users more like because at some point trading should be fun especially in this small formats like TMA in on mobile app. It's not always some professional tools. It's for everyone. Also, I want to show you a small thing that actually can be very helpful.
For example, types. You know that on our main screen, we have tabs. In first iteration, it was like simple list. Discover new tokens for tokens almost listed. But we've started to add some functions, some features. You can see your tokens, your positions. At the end of the list, we've introduced live streams. We added some tab and you can actually sort all tokens by having this live streams. Of course, you can sort by the most big, the most huge tokens we have. And this thing was actually not very obvious for our users that you can scroll this thing to the right. We've been working on this adding some fade animation and like things.
This is very small feature but it's I think it brings us very I think it gives users a lot of helpful things they can use to discover like tokens but actually if you're not tired of my speech I can actually yeah I've been working on trading bot experience it's the team version of our training bot in telegram it's like the most complex task from my side right now because we've been building this from scratch for a And I think there are two crucial parts on this experience. Actually a token list you can discover different tokens from different blockchains from different platforms. You can trade right from the screen with one tap like you can enable quick buy enter some amount of money. You can buy filtered tokens with one click. And this is the most important thing that you actually work simultaneously with filters. you have some strategy you've come up with or you maybe you see new strategy on YouTube maybe that gain you some traction some money yeah maybe it's a secret your new secret strategy you work this uh through with filters and you start trading you buy on a small amount of money different tokens like almost instantly and you see this later how it performs after that it can be very interesting experience I'm waiting for myself.
I I'm really wait for this future to be released. And the second part, the second big thing about this future is actually a token page. We've been building this section for a while. This is the most complex thing. Uh how to build oneclick experience on this and also how to show everything that is really important. how to show different indicators that users can analyze to see whether it if it's this token is a scam or not. So we've building a lot of scam indicators very simple chart and we're building this whole structure. It was really polished I think at this point. Uh so you can work with this small widget by instantly from this screen like typing the different patterns different presets by the one button. You can also unwrap it with full screen select different kind of orders select different slippage work with the settings choose another wallet or something. So this is the big deal. The most difficult part I'm working right now.
web version. Yeah, it's how to adapt this whole TMI experience to the web. You have to rethink of navigation. You have to rethink of how users will work with wallet. Different kind of training, but I think that's a whole lot to see. It's all coming in the nearest future, I think. Yeah. You know, to to be honest, I'm actually glad that I have had a chance to join this Bloomchest because even I didn't see all of these releases coming. So you know actually being a part of design team I see you guys are working a lot behind the scenes although like uh we only see it once the product is released but how is the design department is uh structured from the inside like uh who's doing what? Actually we have a big design department from my experience it's the first startup that has a big team of designers.
We have three uh product designers one graphic designer that works with motion as well and a head of designer. Every designer have his own area of responsibility. For example, I'm responsible for this trading bot experience. Other guy have responsibility for the perpetual things and also wallet section or the whole TMA experience. It's all different area of expertise.
Sometimes we help each other to different features and different small designs. Besides design department, there's we are part of a product team. We have a product managers. We have C levels actually our founders that really involved into the product. We have analytics team and of course front and back end. It's all we work very closely. So it's not like we have a responsibility for everything.
No, it's it's layers of ideas of critics. This is the point to make product that every owner accept. I have a feeling that uh design product and especially the tech team are very close. It's a bit unusual for us to see that when we try to reach our design team, they already know what marketing department is thinking of. When it comes to uh building something from scratch, how do you guys approach it or like when we're trying to improve uh something that already exists? It depends. Uh if you are talking about some new future for for a TMA or meat, we have different income streams.
Like for example, we are constantly reading Bloom's charts. They're gathering feedbacks from our users. We can read directly Bloom charts and see what users asking for. There are some income message from the founders because they're constantly research the market. They suggest like our competitors built last week this feature. We need this ASAP. Of course, you can come with your own idea to improve some user experience on some section.
It's all combined together and you just have a lot of things in your backlog. Every every minute you can take something from this and start working. Of course, you have priorities that you work on with product managers. So, after this, after you know what task you have, you start digging. you start gathering reference references mood board and start building your first draft. We don't use wireframes at this point because we have a big design system. So we start building building the design instantly and after that we have some some we have some calls with the stakeholders to to discuss if this design fit every criteria if it will be accepted by everyone in our team.
It's crucial part. it's not good enough, it's not polished enough and we will have another iteration to repeat this process again. After that we will have a call with our back end team and front end team to discover if it will pass our technical requirements. After that they start building if nothing is a blocker. Mhm. So basically you guys first discuss it internally then if everybody likes you try to gather some opinion from our bloomies volunteers and then get the community feedback and then start like uh on releasing the feature considering everything you have done so far or like what is coming up like what feature are you most proud of? The most complex feature was spotlight on me part. It's because it's consist of different layers of interactions of graphics of stuff.
You have imagine spotlight on meat. It's a big card in the center of the screen. You have different backgrounds animated gifs and we have a separate a separate different folders with different gifts like that will bring this DJ wipes DJ glitch something very. Yeah, we have some animation that helps discover if the token rise or fall in price very fast. Sometimes you even can't see this animations but they are there. Oh, when the becomes green or red in the background, right? Yeah. Some sometimes it is. And the more this talking to the listening stage, the more animations appeared, more glitchy it become.
It became like really weird and brightful like everything start to shake a little bit more. Also, this is just part of this. There are a lot of things in the spotlight reactions, scrolling cards. I think we are not uh support like constantly evolving the cards. Recently, we've switched to more important areas, but I think spotlight was my first battle when I came to the bloom. It was my second week of work there. So basically spotlight is your child, right? Your creation. Not really. No, it was our team work. Everybody had their vacations at the time. So we had to design and communicate with the whole product team alone without design support from colleagues. That was tough for the newbie. So when it comes to the leaderboards, what do you think about it? I think that it actually caught a lot of attention.
Uh users uh seems to like it a lot. That's a good point. We couldn't implement all with all we want because for example, we're trying to achieve this emotional feeling when you are in some sort of competition when you know your ratings, your place, who's in front of you and who is behind and you know how much bullet points you need to overtake your neighbors. And we couldn't implement this ideally. We don't have some dynamic invest rating. You just see your list. If you have some places like 13,511 place, you can see a table with the neighbors, you just see a rating.
Uh because of the technical limits, I think it's not very engaging. It's not as engaged as I want it to be. I wanted it to be, but it's still it's a cool feature. I think it helps influencers to show all their places you know and of course to understand what's your place like your personal as a user imagine if you climb thousand places on the top maybe you have some sort of achievement for this it will be cool some sort of medal or something like if if you will have achievements so you've mentioned the trading bot that you've been working hard on it like uh what's the main goal for your team uh about the trading bot main goal of trading trading bot is to make the fastest experience the securest one I think because you have to trust the platform and we're trying to implement some techniques some features that will save your save your money actually with different indicators with different little helpers in the UI final decision is on you always yes but we're trying to implement this simple and fast experience where you can take decisions without any frustrations.
That's I think a real good goal. So you've shown us the web version of uh the Bloom the upcoming Bloom app. So like if we speak about the changes like how we're moving from Telegram to web, is it like quite challenging or is it easy to handle? How are you guys coping with it? You have to redraw all the components. uh you have to think how this vertical layout of a mobile screen would unwrapped into desktop experience. The desktop users should use full amount of features when they use a big screen, right? They should see larger amount of tokens with large amount of indicators of different stuff. You can do more stuff, click more buttons. actually you can be some sort of more professional trader you know because you have a lot of more data and you can make more mindful decisions more smart decisions I think that's where we are thinking uh that's where we're going uh how to unwrap this whole thing into beautiful complex web three interface and still keep it simple indeed indeed yeah we're trying to to make it as simple as user friendly as possible, right? Yes.
Yeah. I think that's our most important feature as a company. We trying to keep it simple. Let's talk now about the people. Uh your team seems to be tightknit. What makes it work so well? I think it's some kind of empathy because we don't have toxic relationship in our in our team. It's not a place where it should be.
We can talk. We can discuss different problems. We don't afraid to discuss this kind of things. It helps build trust inside the thing. It helps build this creative relationship and atmosphere. You can just come up with new ideas and try to build it. It's very I think it's very cool. This kind of relationship inside the team is very important for me personally. I think that's why we have very small amount of guys that quit the company. we don't have this kind of stuff I think and what is your personal responsibility area in like among the team of product designers so the last one month I think it's a training board uh before this we have main part uh main application so I was working on different parts of this application but my most noticeable parts is referral system friends and also maybe something with tribes because at my first month of working in bloom I was redesigning tribes experience so it's something about tribes usually any advice for someone who wants to work uh in a product design in web three startups like bloom for example it depends on what do you have right now if you are a product designer you just should start concepting ideating in web3 industry just build your community on Twitter I think share your process your designs, your ideas constantly.
It's it is the thing that you have to constantly support every day. You have to tweet every day and share your designs. But if you are like a guy with no design experience, you just want to work in web 3 space in some cool starts up. I think I have some cool examples of my friends. A friend of mine, he was a student just graduated. He was involved in Discord in a product I was working in. He was just helping other newbies and grew his discord roles to the top until he became a moderator. And at some point our SMM managers noticed noticed he and they just gave him an offer. Would you like to join our team? And he actually joined and became a new SMM manager. In parallel he was working like couple of years in this company.
He was trying to switch his role to Solana developer and he succeeded. He was teaching Rascode and now working as a sole dev full-time. So it's a big career growth and he switching projects and all these things started from just interest of one project just choose something choose different projects start bringing start helping start like bringing some value to other users and this really works I just see how it works that story of a friend sounds so similar you know to my experience because I was also a bloom I joined to just like assisting users and and now I'm here in the Bloom team. So, I'm actually really grateful for you guys. Thank you a lot for joining today.
It was actually really insightful and full of like new knowledge in terms of design for our users. Guys, Alex is also a blogger. He shares a lot of knowledge behind the scenes like what's going on on his Twitter page. You can guys follow him. It's like L_Jupel Jup. Yeah. And before you leave, Alex, you know, we actually have some questions from the community. How many years do you need to study to become a product designer? What does it take? Nowadays, it's very fast. We have some free online courses like Google UX. You can start from scratch. Only point I think in product design is your overall life experience. It help you think critically. You can bring your your past experience into this profession. For example, if you was a salesman, a QA, you would succeed in design as well. I think because you have a big experience in your past professions. All of this really helps you make decisions and ask questions and this is an important part of product design. I think the visual part it's of course it's a big part of thing of the profession is you will learn it.
It's hard way but but manageable. I think the most critical part here is your thinking. So start from making product cases, making concepts, drawing cool things, experiment, try to find I think design influencers, Anton repin, googly van, it's some dinosaurs in design. I think for now have a cool leaders in this profession. I think on Twitter it's maybe I don't know fmons or den I think it's like some sort of freelancer a lot of this stuff. Before move on to the next question, I see a comment from the Twitter. There is no answer for how many years.
It's more about talent maybe. Do you agree with this? I think it depends on you like how fast you can build your portfolio, right? Sometimes it's two years, one year. I know different cases. uh it depends on like if it's a good number of cases and if they visually strong enough if they filled with enough ideas analytics hypothesis user researches it's all about product design it's not about UI this actually is very important but companies make a decisions on hiring someone uh on a junior level they're looking for visual things as well it's very important at this level so what is more important talent or hard work here? Oh, in product design, I think there is no talent I think at all.
It's it's really just um years of experience and critical thinking. How do you determine which interface users like and which one they don't? We don't do AB testing in our company. We do this on the close groups of users, on the close groups of our colleagues. At this point it's enough to bring cool UI because we are not operating as a corporation. We don't try to achieve like half of a percent or like couple of persons in different metrics or KPI. We are building fast. making a huge steps and at this point of uh evolution of our company we can ask uh blue they collect a lot of data for us and that's enough I think at this point we will use another tools to test our interfaces will there be a global redesign of bloom some moments still stay uncomfortable well we're working hard on bringing new products in bloom ecosystem we're building this on our bloom design system and we are not talking about redesigning this thing at all.
We're just trying to build new things with this simple design system will remain uh the same as in meat or TMA. I think we are very young to talk about redesigns. Are there any new trading events planned in near future? We definitely have something upcoming for the near future, but yet we still have live our hash trading clash event where you guys can win up to 1,000 ton. So yeah, even if you cannot make it up to the by the trading volume, you can still be in lucky 150 people who will get an airdrop of $10 each for the trading volume of like $50. So yeah, guys, you better rush to the clash trading clash. We only have two days left for this. And yeah, don't forget to add the blue icon to your home screen, guys. It's very easy, very intuitive. If you guys don't know, just check out our Telegram channel on how to do it. I think we're going to wrap up here.
Thank you so much, guys, for listening. We'll see you on the next Boom Chats. See you..
